‘Give me a break let me make my own pattern
All that it takes is some time but I’m shattered
I always turn the car around
All that I feel is the realness I’m faking
Taking my time but it’s time that I’m wasting
Always turn the car around’
‘Give me a break let me make my own pattern
All that it takes is some time but I’m shattered
I always turn the car around
All that I feel is the realness I’m faking
Taking my time but it’s time that I’m wasting
Always turn the car around’
'How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.'

This is one of those songs I sing along with on the radio whenever I hear it but I never thought of it in relation to loss through death. I’ve always thought the line about “the realness I’m faking” was clever but it hit me like a punch in the gut when I read it here. I think about all three of you all the time and I will never hear this song (or Benny and the Jets or Simple Man) without sending out thoughts and prayers for you. Maybe when you need an extra prayer where ever you are Bennett will see to it that I hear one of these songs on the radio where ever I am and send love your way. In our house we no longer call these happenings “coincedences” or “kismet”. That’s Bennett. He’s watching out for you.
